Have been to manchester for the weekend and spotted this splendid water tower on our way to chester.

Graham, its entrance is on norton lane.
It is signed as a current united utilities site and hence closed off.
There is a long thin field running around the site which joins the road just before the junction of norton lane and norton gate.
From this field you can see the structure really close up.
Next time i am in that area i will definitely make a visit.
Hi graham, we have just arrived home from seeing this water tower, took us ages to find it but you need to go through murdishaw near runcorn.
We drove down the driveway and my husband parked and had a quick look round.
Its very impressive up close and because there are some houses down the driveway nobody questioned us.
